Why Jazz is the Music of Ugandan Executives?

Jazz is a genre of music that originated in New Orleans, Louisiana, thanks to African American, Charles Bolden in the 1890s. Since then, Jazz has gone on to captive the world, and to soothe souls, inspire creativity and critical thinking. It’s the kind of music one wouldn’t mind working to. It’s the perfect background music.

For Ugandan Executives with hectic schedules, Jazz becomes that reinvigorating factor, helping them to relax and avoid the perils of mental exhaustion. In Uganda, Jazz was mainly popularized by Isaiah Katumwa. Once, there was even a lounge in Kampala dedicated to Jazz music, the now defunct Jazz Ville in Bugolobi.

Many people in the country have carried the weight of Jazz Music, these include Tshaka Mayanja, Michael Kitanda, Absolute Tonny, to mention but a few. Brands such as Nile Gold, Singleton, Tusker Malt Lager and even Johnnie Walker have always courted these Jazz audiences.

For the Uganda executives, Jazz is that momentary reminder of the excellence hidden in every one of them, it’s a reminder to bring out their potential, their gifts, to uncover better leadership styles. But it’s also a moment to connect and reconnect and build a more conscious capitalism.

Yes, Jazz is truly the music of Ugandan Executives.
