Ideas, insights are always around us. They hide in plain sight. No body has a monopoly on ideas. Why? Because great ideas never run out. They exist in the things we bypass. If you want to know where to make an investment of time, money and energy, search for the under-valued things. Search for the things that are currently underrated. You can find these on the fringes, in the commonalities and banalities of life. Invest in those things.
Have you tried to look for a plumber in your home area? An electrician? A welder? What about the waiting queues? What can be built on top of that? What should people be doing as they are waiting? How come no one is looking at that opportunity? As people wait at the bus stops? What can be layered on top of that? What about long bus journeys? Beyond sleeping? Beyond listening to music? What can be built on these long bus journeys?
What about the night economy? Beyond the night clubs and the bars, what else can be built in this night economy? Should it only be reserved for sleep? There’s opportunity in the night hours. Think more about the rush hour? Can something be built on top of that rush hour? What’s currently being ignored that could actually blow up with more attention, more effort? A rare sound? A rare cafe? Begin observing the undervalued things, the underrated, the undercapitalized. They are the gold of tomorrow.
